drawnhere - After the fire
[Peter only half focuses on the fear he feels from Jordan. His mate has a dangerous job, sometimes he gets scared and Peter learned to ignore these for the sake of his leftover sanity. Though this time it goes on and gets more intense, it isn't just a scare. It's more than that.
The wolf swallows and moves from the couch to quickly get his clothes, just to check out what can it be. And then he feels his whole body burning.
Burning.
Peter's knees almost give out at the overwhelming sensation and it takes him a second to realize it's not him. It's Jordan. He hesitates before he finally moves again, because if this means what he thinks it does, he's not sure if he's ready. But his body practically moves without his will and he's out of the house in no time.
As Peter runs he tries to cling to what he can feel through the bond, just to lose it. For a second. There is nothing there... and Peter feels his mind shutting down. He's only half aware that he's running and the next thing he knows he's opening the door of Derek's loft with too much force. Peter barely knows why he's actually here, but then he spots Jordan and he's wondering if this is real of not.]
Jordan..?

Jordan..?

The daze lifted after his shower, when he washed the ash and burned plastic from his skin. He was alive. He borrowed clothes from Derek and was fresh and clean and surrounded by people he only knew in passing. It was a relief when Peter was there, just what he was waiting for.]
Peter. [He goes straight for his mate, needing him.]
no subject
The wolf moves his arms and pulls the man tightly to him. Jordan smells like kerosene and fire and Derek's clothes and Peter almost panics more, desperately searching for his mate's faint scent under all that.]
What happened- What happened? [He breathes, suddenly not finding the strength to talk.]
no subject
Haigh tried to kill me. He burned me alive. [And he lived but he remember every second of the flames licking at him, eating him, destroying him and killing him. He remembered dying.] I don't know how I lived.
no subject
I'm going to kill him, I'm going to kill him for you, I knew he can't be trusted. [He growls, though it's shivering too. His hands stroking Jordan's back, holding him tight.] I felt you die... [And he felt it all. The way the fire was taking everything from them and Peter is still scared. Maybe it really happened.]
no subject
I'm alive. [He presses a hand over Peter's heart. His mate is alive, he's alive.]
no subject
[Jordan's hand on his chest is almost like a stab, along with his words. Peter reaches for his hand and squeezes it tight, keeping it by his heart. He hates appearing so... weak in front of 'strangers', but his mate practically died...] You are. You're safe now. I want to take you home. [And bathe Jordan again to wash off the lingering scent of smoke, feed him to make sure he's going to stay alive and just keep him close and touch him.]
no subject
Derek doesn't know what I am. I don't think I need to stay. [He would be okay with leaving and being alone with Peter. If there was something he needed to know they could tell him later. He wants to be with his mate.]
no subject
[At the mention of Derek Peter's gaze flickers at his nephew. He's thankful for him for taking care of his mate, but also a bit annoyed that Jordan has his scent on him. So he just nods, not wanting to engage with anyone right now. He doesn't have the patience for anyone, but Jordan. His mate needs him and Peter needs his mate too. He lost him and he's still trying to believe that Jordan is still alive.]
Let's go. [He breathes and moves to kiss Jordan's forehead before he pulls him after him by his hand.]
no subject
[Derek, Scott and Lydia are pretending not to watch the two of them but he can feel them trying to listen to the conversation between them. He appreciates their help and trying to comfort him but really there's only Peter who can fully make him feel better. Peter, his mate, is what he needs.]
Please. [He nods his goodbyes to Scott and company before he follows Peter, staying close to his side.]
no subject
How can you still... [Peter shakes his head. Jordan always has so much faith in people, despite an incident like this and it makes Peter angry. But he doesn't want to argue, so he just walks out of the loft. Though as they are outside he turns and pulls Jordan close, holding the back of his head as he kisses him. He wants to say and do so many things, but they need to get home. To safety. And Jordan still reeks of smoke.]
I'll take you home, and it'll be alright. I'm going to take care of you. I'll stay with you. [Peter is aware he's rambling as they start walking again, but he can't help it, his shock slowly taking him again.]
no subject
That sounds like a good plan. [He let's Peter drag him away again. He's ready to go home and be safe with Peter. He's not sure what his mate wants to do but it doesn't matter he needs to be with him.]
no subject
[He takes the police car outside to bring Jordan home, because he's not going to make him run all the way back. Peter's not sure he can drive while his hands are shaking like this, but he's not going to let his mate do that either. He's going to take care of him.]
How are you alive? Is it a charm, or a spell, or... [Peter asks when he finds his voice again. Just a few minutes and they will be home and even those minutes seems too long as he can't focus all his attention on Jordan as he's driving.]
no subject
It's why they sent me to Derek because they thought he might know what I am. [He doesn't know. No one seems to know. Jordan doesn't know what to do about this new knowledge.] I survived being burned alive. I don't know what that means.
no subject
I know you died. I felt it... [Peter snaps, looking at Jordan for a second.] I'm just-- not sure you're really alive. [He adds in a low voice, closing his eyes for a second as he turns his head back to the road. His throat aches, his chest is tight and his hands are shaking. He's still caught up in that emptiness he felt when Jordan died. And it's all too familiar and the scent of smoke is still too thick in his nose.]
Because Derek clearly is an expert. [He scoffs annoyed.] Everything he knows he learned from me. They should have called me first, they know you're mine! [He squeezes the steering wheel in anger.] If you weren't here now I'd have been the last one to know it?
It means we need to do our research. Or that I'm losing my mind for real. [Peter adds, mostly to himself.] But first you need to shower again...
no subject
They don't trust you but I wanted to call you. [He reaches over and wraps his hand around Peter's wrist.] I wanted you but I wasn't in the right mind for a long time.
Take me home and shower with me. Be with me.
no subject
At Jordan's touch he takes his hand and squeezes it maybe a bit too tight, but Peter doesn't care. He wants to really know that his mate is fine. Because right now it's all a mess.] Anything could have happened and they wouldn't tell me. [Even if he can tell that Scott and Derek weren't trying to hurt or claim Jordan, they were taking care of him and yet, it still included keeping him away from his mate and Peter can't help to be pissed about it.]
I will. I won't let you go, you know that? You better prepare and stay with me for a while. [Peter breathes and lifts his mate's hand to his lips to kiss him. Yes, he's not going to let Jordan out of the house for god knows how long. Or if he does, then definitely not alone.
They arrive not long later and Peter's knees are still weak and his limbs are still shaking as he takes Jordan's hand again, leading him back into the house.]
no subject
You might want to try and earn their trust. [He makes the suggestion partially as a joke. He knows Peter doesn't care about trust. He especially doesn't care about the other packs trust.] I would've called for you. I wouldn't let them keep me from you.
I'll talk to my boss later so he knows. [He knows Peter will need time together and he's fine with that. He needs it too, time away from work to figure out what he is.]
no subject
I'm actually making attempts, but they never know what's good for them. [Not really, but details. Peter knows trust is dangerous... Yet, he also admits it can be extremely useful. It's why packs are strong. But there are other ways for that.] What if you couldn't call me?
Later. [Peter nods, reaching for Jordan to pull him close, kissing him again. Yes, his lips are warm and Peter can feel him through their clothes and his scent is actually stronger now, but the smoke is still there.] Let's get you out of these clothes.
no subject
They wouldn't keep me from calling you. They wouldn't. [He would tell Peter to stop being paranoid but right now he wouldn't. This isn't the time to argue with him.] I'm here now.
That sounds like a great idea. [He takes a hold of Peter's hips and guides him towards their bedroom and the shower. He refuses to shower alone. He wants Peter with him.] I want to wear something of yours after.
no subject
Yes, let's do that. [He nods with a low growl. Dressing Jordan in his clothes might help them both to calm down in various ways. Peter walks with Jordan to the bathroom, not letting him go, wanting to feel him under his fingers and close to his body.] And I make something to eat, or do you want take-out? What do you want? [He asks as he's tugging at Jordan's clothes. The urge to provide to him getting more intense.]
no subject
He takes his clothes off and all traces of ash are gone but of course the scent of smoke still lingers. He'll need a nice long showers to get rid of it.] I think it should just be you and me. Okay?
no subject
As Jordan undresses Peter starts the water and sets the temperature before he takes off his clothes too.] Of course. No one else, just you and me. [And with that he takes his mate's hand, already looking if his body's the same. Peter pulls him under the water, a hand slipping on his chest to feel his heartbeat again. It's a little alarmed, but it's there. It's alive.] You're still so beautiful.
no subject
Aren't you lucky that didn't change? [It might be easier to handle if he can joke about it but he doubts it.]
no subject
How lucky I am indeed, I can still call you babyface. [Peter smiles, though it's not a happy one. He reaches for the shampoo to first wash Jordan's hair, where the smoke's scent is still awfully strong.] But even if you changed it wouldn't make a difference, you know that?
no subject
I know. I know you love me. [Right now, he's so grateful for it. Going through this alone would be the worst feeling in the world.] I'm so sorry you had to feel that, what happened to me. I'm so sorry.
