drawnhere - After the fire
[Peter only half focuses on the fear he feels from Jordan. His mate has a dangerous job, sometimes he gets scared and Peter learned to ignore these for the sake of his leftover sanity. Though this time it goes on and gets more intense, it isn't just a scare. It's more than that.
The wolf swallows and moves from the couch to quickly get his clothes, just to check out what can it be. And then he feels his whole body burning.
Burning.
Peter's knees almost give out at the overwhelming sensation and it takes him a second to realize it's not him. It's Jordan. He hesitates before he finally moves again, because if this means what he thinks it does, he's not sure if he's ready. But his body practically moves without his will and he's out of the house in no time.
As Peter runs he tries to cling to what he can feel through the bond, just to lose it. For a second. There is nothing there... and Peter feels his mind shutting down. He's only half aware that he's running and the next thing he knows he's opening the door of Derek's loft with too much force. Peter barely knows why he's actually here, but then he spots Jordan and he's wondering if this is real of not.]
Jordan..?

Jordan..?

[Peter feels the familiar tension in his guts as he turns on the coffee machine. It's all cozy again and homey, but he's living like this for a while and he likes it. Despite the slight paranoia, he likes it. And it's real.]
[Since Peter still wants to provide for his mate he goes a bit overboard. He makes coffee, pours some orange juice, gets milk, cereal, toast, butter, jam, tomatoes, cheese, even prepares some scrambled egg and even serves some of the salad from last night. He basically puts every food on the tray that can be accepted as breakfast. He even has to use two trays...]
Well, I knew I can count on you. Such an outstanding talent. [Peter smiles at last when he turned their bed into a breakfast table and sits down next to his mate.]

[He makes sure their hips touch and his ankle is hooked around Peter's so that they're close together but have room to eat. He picks what he likes, grinning at his mate's ridiculousness but how loving Peter is.]
no subject
At this point you should be thankful I didn't go with my other urge and presented some raw deer to you.
[Peter snorts, knowing he got too much. But at least his wolf is calm knowing his mate definitely has enough to eat. He leans over to smear a messy kiss with some jam stuck to his lips on Jordan's cheek in revenge.] You need energy anyway.
no subject
[He laughs against Peter's lips and licks the jam from him.] Mmm, how sweet you are. [He's able to feel happy again which is a big deal after what happened.] Yeah? Do you have plans for me?
no subject
Then you should be indeed thankful. [Peter chuckles, glad that his mate is smiling and smelling of happiness. What happened was terrible and he wasn't sure how Jordan will handle it... But Peter will try to ease his troubles. Now that it's sure he is alive.]
Well, my plans include you staying in this bed. Mostly. [He purrs, kissing Jordan again for good measure.] And if you want to get better you need a full stomach anyway.
no subject
I would like another shower. I think I can still smell the smoke. [But it might just be in his head. He can't be sure.] I am better, I'm fully healed. I didn't have any injures when I got out of that car.
no subject
And only you'd say it like that. [Peter smiles with a sigh, taking his coffee mug. But he knows that this is just the beginning. It gets worse with time. Because time tends to not heal some wounds at all...]
It'll linger around for a while. [He remarks, eying his mate. It's a bit surreal, looking at someone who survived burning alive... Well, not survived, but came back.] I wasn't actually talking about your body.
no subject
It's really annoying. [He makes a face, frowning deeply at his hands.] I know. I think it'll trigger some flashbacks to the war and nightmares. I've been lucky so far I haven't had one.
no subject
Oh, you are. Apparently, in various ways. [Peter nods, bumping his shoulder gently to Jordan's.]
I know. [He looks down, taking some eggs and watching Jordan's hands too. He really knows.] I'll be here if they come. [He assures quietly and reaches out to stroke Jordan's back.]
You know, you can always think about it as some gift, if it helps. You seem to be invincible and believe me, many would kill for something like that.
no subject
It's obviously a gift, though, because I'm still here and alive when I shouldn't be. I don't know what I am anymore either. [He looks at his hands again.] It's so weird.
no subject
[Peter swallows and reaches for Jordan, sliding his arm around his shoulder to pull him close. He presses his nose against his temple, nuzzling at him without saying anything.]
Welcome to the supernatural community. We have arson and assassins. [He sighs, closing his eyes for a second.] We'll find out what you are, don't worry. Our family has kept records of them all.
no subject
[At least Peter can help him figure this out. He's not alone, trying to struggle through this.]
no subject
Are you done? You should really eat more. [He mutters offering the last bite of his own toast.]
no subject
I'm full for now. I'll eat some more later, okay? [He shakes his head a little. He's full. He's had more than enough.]
no subject
Later then. You're going to eat and rest today anyway. [He nods with a small smile and attempts to tidy up the remains of their breakfast.]
no subject
Though maybe I should let you get something to keep yourself entertained while I sleep.
no subject
[Peter leans his back against the headrest, petting Jordan's hair.]
I spent years staring at walls and ceilings, I think a few hours of looking over my mate's sleeping won't hurt me.
[Although, he might go get his laptop at one point.]
no subject
[With a full stomach and Peter still warm and comfortable against him Jordan is ready to go back to sleep. He already has his eyes closed, savoring the feel of Peter's fingers through his hair.]
no subject
You'd never bore me. [Peter chuckles, looking down at Jordan and gently stroking his hair. He once again realizes this guy is slowly becoming the most beautiful person to him in every way... and Peter is alright with that.
A bit later when Jordan drifted back to sleep, Peter of course just takes a few minutes to bring the trays back to the kitchen and take his laptop from the living room, joining Jordan's side again as if he never left.]
no subject
What are you working on? [He wonders if it's important. He'd like to have Peter's attention for a little bit.]
no subject
[Peter turns his head toward Jordan, knowing he's awake already by the change in his heartbeat. He smirks a little, closing the laptop.]
Nothing too fascinating. I also started to check my records about immunity to fire. [He shrugs, then reaches over to stroke Jordan's hair.] How do you feel?
no subject
[He hopes Peter doesn't think he needs more sleep or rest. Jordan's had enough of that at the moment.]
no subject
I can tell. [Peter chuckles, kissing Jordan back with a low purr and pulling him closer. Of course he'd still insist Jordan to stay mostly put, because he burned alive. Last time that happened to Peter he spent six years... but that's an old story.] Oh, no need to thank me. You already do by waking up next to me. [He smiles, stroking Jordan's chin.] Do you need anything?
no subject
no subject
[Peter can't stop the low growl leaving him at that. Of course he's aware of what his mate wants, he can feel it and smell it. There is still smoke tainting Jordan's scent, but Peter wonders if it's only in his head at this point.]
Are you sure? [He asks in a low voice though he's already pushing Jordan down the bed gently. He doesn't want to rush.] Because if I touch you now I'm not going to stop.
