Mermaids ahoy
It's been a while since Peter has smelled the ocean. It brought back hazy memories of summer vacations with his family and old friends he has never seen ever since the fire. He didn't even remember them.
Though, this beach was different. Peter deliberately tried to find a place they had never visited with his family, and he didn't want to go in the summer. Spring break was fine. Spring had a different smell, even on the beach. Now it will have the smell of the memories with his mate.
Peter was standing on the porch of the house they have rented for this trip, waiting for Stiles to carry the remaining bags from the car. He was eying the shore in the late afternoon sun. Some would say the shore was even ugly and that's why the rent was so cheap. It wasn't a popular place, it wasn't for parties and drinking, it was for... finding magical artifacts. But most importantly mermaids.
But it will be perfect for what they planned, Peter wondered.
"Coming?" he called Stiles then.

Mostly because he was sure they would come after Peter and try to kill him- again. Especially his dad, despite the fact Stiles was more than old enough now to date whoever he wanted to. It was something he thought about on the trip up here, when he should start telling everyone. He was getting better and better with every passing week at using his spark. There were a few spells he could use without messing up, two offensive and one defensive. And the more he studied and practiced, the more he learned and the better he got.
Thankfully his schooling didn't suffer, Stiles was able to fit studing magic and being an emissary in between his college courses, which made him far too busy for parties and going out. Which was fine, considering he was usually with Peter most nights anyway.
Currently Stiles was lugging in the last of their bags, grumbling under his breath that Peter could have at least taken in the heaviest ones for him.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming!" he shouted from the front door, dragging in the last of the bags and dropping them on the floor. Stiles then joined Peter on the porch overlooking the vast beautiful and terrifying ocean.
"Whoa, the view is awesome."
