[Peter smirks as he opened the door for Stiles.]
A little early, don't you? [He teases and opens the door wider for him.] Come on in. You're lucky, the food's ready.
[Peter's been in Beacon Hills for a few weeks now, but his apartment was presentable only a few days. Since he preferred to stay for a long time this time he decided to renovate one. And of course they didn't really celebrate their reunion with Stiles yet.
So Peter also aimed this night to be a celebration and a date. And something else. But Stiles will know in time.]

[Then he throws a smirk at him.] I was actually planning to suggest wine for this meal too. It's the best for beef anyway.
[He talks casually as he retreats two glasses from the counter and takes them to the table with the bottle.] One of the best things in being free is enjoying simple things like wine.
no subject
[ He grins a little as he watches Peter, warm honey-brown eyes taking him in. His heart beats just a tiny bit faster. ]
no subject
[Peter pours the wine, looking at Stiles and hears the skip in his heartbeat. He smiles to himself a little, even if it's not just joy he feels.]
If you keep looking at me like that I'm going to eat you up instead of the steak.
no subject
Well, we wouldn't want that delicious steak to go to waste.
no subject
Oh indeed. Especially that this is the first meal I provided to you. [Peter remarks with a smirk and clinks his glass to Stiles' before he takes a sip.] As a mate.
[He's confident as he says it, but it's still such a heavy word on his tongue. Though he wishes not just the word would be heavy. He puts a plate in front of Stiles with a smirk before he prepares the rest of the table, setting down more side dishes and gravy.]
no subject
When Peter sets down the teen's plate, Stiles reaches up and pulls Peter down into a slow kiss. ] Thank you, for providing for me.
[ Stiles kisses him again before letting go so the man can continue laying food out for them both, though he waits until Peter sits down before beginning to eat. ]
no subject
[He finally settles too to eat, keep looking at Stiles to check if he needs anything. And it's also a strange feeling. All this. Peter always thought it will be something calming, and it is. Yet he still feels like there are stones in his stomach.]
no subject
It's pretty much the happiest he's been in a long while. ]
no subject
By the way, does anyone know? Did you tell anyone yet? [He asks quietly.] That I took you as a mate?
no subject
I told Scott, he could smell you on me. So I kind of had to? He's really not happy about it. He doesn't understand, which I get. I mean, I didn't understand his whole Allison thing, but whatever. I made him promise not to tell my dad though. Not yet, anyway. Scott's the only one that knows right now.
no subject
Mmm. [Peter nods, contemplating. It was better to think about this than how they are actual mates. Scott knowing that he is back and that he took Stiles as mate is good. For now. Question if Scott realizes what it could really mean.]
Well, I suppose not many things can be kept from the current Alpha.
Do you trust him? [Peter looks up then, reaching for his own glass.]
no subject
[ He nods to the question, no hesitation in his voice or skips in his heartbeat. ]
I do. He might not be my alpha anymore [ One tiny thing he forgot to mention to Scott, and something he himself has had two years coming to terms with. ] but he's still my best friend.
no subject
Well, I made sure anyone would know that. [Peter smirks, licking his lips. But it's one thing sleeping with someone and another is to take them as mates.]
[Although, Stiles' trust in Scott is still a sensitive matter to tend to and Peter is still working on the cons and pros of keeping it or not. And Peter smiles a little, it's still overly satisfying hearing that he's Stiles' alpha.]
He wasn't really a good alpha to you anyway. If he were... many things would be different. [Peter mutters quietly.]
no subject
Oh really? And how different should they be? [ He's actually quite curious to hear what Peter has to say about that topic. ]
no subject
[Peter raises an eyebrow at Stiles before he answers.]
You've never thought about it? [He asks quietly, eyes narrowing.] Or better... you've never felt it? That something's just in your reach and Scott could help you grip it?
no subject
And that was more than enough reason for Scott to say no. Scott could have helped him. But he chose not to.
Stiles lets out a little laugh. ] Well, you certainly do have a point.
no subject
[As Peter was watching Stiles thinking about it, he was slowly smiling.]
I can give that to you. I can help you. Or more like, you'd be the one helping me. [Peter said, leaning forward.] I wouldn't be satisfied if you were my mate only, Stiles.
no subject
Stiles slowly sets down his fork. ]
What would you be satisfied with, that I can give you?
no subject
[Peter is aware how his eyes must glow red as he's looking at Stiles.]
Be my emissary too. [He feels his blood boil as he says the words. Because this isn't about mates, it's about power, about being powerful. About gaining an emissary who has a spark and wouldn't need to serve the balance. Scott was blind for not seeing it and Deaton was a coward for not tending to it. But Peter will. He will show Stiles and all the others the potential the boy has.]
no subject
Like Peter does.
It doesn't take Stiles long to reach a decision. To be an Alpha's mate and their emissary... he would have the means to protect his dad without Scott's help. ]
Okay, yes.
no subject
[Peter feels his teeth strain at Stiles' answer. His wolf howls, his Alpha instincts are raging.]
Good. [The word is low and long, his eyes are still on Stiles. Now he just needs a pack. Betas. Even though with Stiles as his emissary maybe it will not be too urgent. So he raises his glass.] No turning back now, Stiles.
no subject
The teen raises his own glass, smirking. ] Wouldn't dream of it.
no subject
[With a sip of his wine, Peter nods. ]
Indeed, your dreams should be occupied with far more interesting ambitions. And because you're so eager, I give you a choice on how do you want to start your training.
no subject
I have no idea, honestly. Deaton wouldn't tell me anything and Scott kept saying it was too dangerous to try. Books maybe? On, I don't know, how to access my spark?
no subject
Deaton is just afraid. He has no spark, but he's experienced and at this point, it gives him advantage. [Peter closes his eyes for a moment as they are back to his original color and looks down at his plate in thought.]
There are no books about that. Power, or if you want to put it that way, sparks are different and they are accessed differently. I can give you material on how others did it, but you will have to find your own.
